AGM2026 was a success!!

It was fantastic to see such a good turnout and to share a day filled with insightful discussions, important updates, and valuable networking. The event was a chance for us to come together, reflect on our journey, and celebrate the strength of our community.

It was fantastic to see such a good turnout and to share a day filled with insightful discussions, important updates, and valuable networking. The event was a chance for us to come together, reflect on our journey, and celebrate the strength of our community.

We were delighted to welcome Yasmin Jefferies to the Board of Trustees, alongside the re-election ofOgbonnia Oko-Joseph, Winnie Apollo-Schubert, and Denis Njouwouo. We also heard from our guest speakers, Millie Kerr, and Nahida Shaikh from Brighton & Hove City Council, and members of our wider community. It was a fantastic evening that truly reflected the strength and diversity of the network we continue to build.

Over the past year, BMECP has continued to deliver real, measurable impact across our communities. Every month, we welcome hundreds of people into our centre, creating a safe, inclusive space for connection, learning, and support. Through our wellbeing activities alone, we’re supporting over 100 people each month, while our employment support has helped more individuals take positive steps towards new opportunities. And each week, our food bank supports dozens of households facing the challenges of the cost-of-living crisis. Behind the scenes, we’ve also been strengthening organisations across Sussex, working with participants through our infrastructure programmes, and investing in sustainability, achieving significant reductions in both energy use and carbon emissions.

We were delighted to see such a strong turnout and to spend the day engaging in meaningful discussions, sharing ideas, and strengthening connections through networking. The event provided a valuable opportunity to reflect on our progress, discuss important business, and look ahead together with renewed energy and purpose.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all our community members for attending and contributing to the success of the event. A special thank you also goes to our guest speaker and to all the representatives who joined us and helped make the occasion so memorable.

We truly appreciate everyone who took the time to be part of the day and support BMECP.
