This is a 10-week programme for BME families and individuals who want to learn and explore how to become foster carers.
Fostering Pathways: A 10-week programme empowering Black, Minority and Ethnic communities (BME) families to support children who need culturally understanding homes
There is a profound need for foster carers who understand the cultural, religious, and identity needs of BME children in care. Many BME families face unique barriers or misconceptions regarding the fostering process. Furthermore, BME children in care are placed in homes that don’t reflect their culture, identity, or faith. You could change that! We provide a safe space to discuss faith perspectives, cultural identity, and the practicalities of opening your home to a child in need.
This programme, hosted by BMECP,is your roadmap to understanding the UK fostering system and deciding if this rewarding journey is right for your family.
Join us at the BMECP Centre on 9th September 2026 at 5:30 pm(BST) for a relaxed and friendly event all about supporting BME communities through fostering.
Whether you’re curious or already involved, this is a great chance to meet others, ask questions, and learn more about the programme. Don’t miss out on connecting with people who care and making a real difference together!
